Pricing Overview

ButtrBase is available in three plans: Starter*, **Pro**, and *Enterprise. All plans include the core platform; higher tiers unlock advanced security, compliance, and scalability features.

Starter — Free

The Starter plan is free and designed for indie developers, prototypes, and small internal tools.

Included:

  • Full Auth, User, Org, Billing, Feature API access
  • Magic link and social login (Google, Microsoft, Apple)
  • Basic RBAC with predefined roles
  • Community support

    • Limits: 1,000 MAU, 100,000 API requests/month, 5 GB storage

    Pro — $299 / month

    The Pro plan is designed for growing SaaS products with professional security and compliance needs.

    Everything in Starter, plus:

  • Up to 50,000 MAU
  • Custom RBAC V2 (create your own roles and permissions)
  • SAML 2.0 and OIDC SSO connections (up to 5 connections)
  • SCIM 2.0 automated user provisioning
  • Secrets Vault (100 secrets, versioned)
  • Organization Signing Keys (Ed25519 / RSA-4096)
  • 90-day audit log retention
  • Email support with 4-hour P1 SLA

    • Add-ons: Additional MAU at $0.002/MAU, additional API requests at $0.80/100k.

    Enterprise — Custom Pricing

    The Enterprise plan is for large-scale deployments requiring dedicated infrastructure, custom contracts, and enterprise security posture.

    Everything in Pro, plus:

  • Unlimited MAU and API requests
  • Dedicated single-tenant or on-premise deployment
  • mTLS Certificate Authority
  • SPIFFE/SVID workload identity
  • Advanced key rotation (KMS integration: AWS, GCP, HashiCorp Vault)
  • Step-up authentication
  • Custom data residency (EU, APAC, or your own cloud account)
  • Up to 365-day audit log retention
  • FedRAMP-eligible deployment (US government)
  • Dedicated Slack channel, named CSM, 30-minute P1 SLA (24/7)
  • Custom MSA, DPA, and BAA available

Billing Model

Subscription

All plans are billed monthly or annually. Annual billing provides a 20% discount on the monthly rate.

Metered Usage

Usage beyond plan limits is billed per unit at the end of each month:

Wallet / Prepaid Credits

Purchase credits upfront and draw down as you consume metered resources. Credits never expire and receive a 5% bonus on purchases over $500.

Upgrading or Downgrading

Plans can be changed at any time from Settings → Billing → Plan. Upgrades take effect immediately with proration. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Response includes a proration_amount_cents preview before charging.

Free Trial

New organizations automatically start a 14-day Pro trial with no credit card required. At the end of the trial, the organization reverts to Starter unless a payment method is added and a plan is selected.

FAQ

Can I use ButtrBase for free? Yes. The Starter plan is free with generous limits for small projects.

Do unused credits roll over? Prepaid wallet credits roll over indefinitely. Monthly subscription allowances reset each billing period.

Is there a per-seat pricing option? Enterprise plans can be structured as per-seat pricing. Contact sales for details.

What payment methods are accepted? All major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), ACH bank transfer (US), and SEPA direct debit (EU) for annual invoices.
