Rust Production Architecture

As of April 17, 2026, the ButtrBase Rust Backend is the primary production front-door for all Control Plane operations.

Architecture Highlights

  • Native Ownership: Every core enterprise route (Auth, RBAC, SSO, Audit, Billing, Teams) is now handled natively in Rust.
  • Sub-Millisecond Resolution: By removing the Node.js proxy layer for Control Plane routes, we have achieved sub-millisecond response times for policy and entitlement checks.
  • Deployment Topology Aware: The backend is built to support SaaS, Single-Tenant, and On-Prem topologies through a unified configuration engine.
  • Zero-Copy Serialization: Uses FlatBuffers for high-performance internal and external data transport where required.
